SS-Obergruppenführer Smith had all classes of this award bestowed upon him - 2nd Class (he wore top button-hole ribbon for it), 1st Class (he wore it pinned to his left chest-pocket) and the highest grade - Knight's Cross of German Victory Cross (the neck order).
