The medals and awards were normally sold and presented in a paper envelopes. The most prestigious ones had cardboard boxes covered in leatherette which in turn came in cartons. Envelopes & cartons were rarely preserved therefore today they are more rare than the medals themselves. Whether you have original, or reproduction medal, an envelope will complement your collection nicely. When you're about to decorate someone else, it will be more appropriate to hand it over to them with the packaging.
